Disclaimer
Trading Journal is a record-keeping tool, not financial advice. Nothing on this website or inside the application is a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Trading and investing carry a real risk of loss, and every decision you take is your own.
Please read this page carefully before you rely on anything the Service shows you.
1.Not investment advice
Trading Journal does not provide investment advice, portfolio management, research, tips, calls or signals. It does not tell you what to trade, when to enter, or when to exit.
Everything the Service displays is arithmetic performed on the data you typed in. A report showing that one strategy did well last month is a description of your own past entries. It is not a prediction, and it is not a suggestion to repeat anything.
2.We are not SEBI registered
Trading Journal is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) as an Investment Adviser or as a Research Analyst, and does not hold itself out as one. We do not provide any service that requires such registration.
If you want advice on what to trade, please speak to a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser.
3.Risk in the markets
Trading in equities, futures and options involves substantial risk.
- Derivatives are leveraged. Losses can exceed the amount you put in.
- SEBI's own published studies have found that a large majority of individual traders in the equity derivatives segment lose money.
- Past results do not predict future results. A profitable month in your journal says nothing about the next one.
Only trade with money you can genuinely afford to lose, and consider your own circumstances before you do.
4.The numbers are only as good as what you type
The Service calculates from your entries. It has no connection to any exchange, broker or price feed, and it cannot check whether what you entered is correct.
- A wrong price, quantity or date produces a wrong result, silently.
- Profit and loss figures are gross. Brokerage, STT, exchange charges, stamp duty, SEBI turnover fees and GST are not deducted unless you enter them yourself.
- The margin figure is a rough estimate of roughly twelve percent of notional value. It is not your broker's SPAN or exposure requirement and should never be relied on for position sizing.
- Lot sizes change from time to time. Please confirm the current lot size with your broker.
For anything official — tax filing, an audit, or a dispute — use the contract notes and statements from your broker. Your journal is for your own learning, not a substitute for your broker's records.
5.No guarantee of outcome
We make no promise that keeping a journal will make you profitable, reduce your losses, or improve your results in any measurable way. Any example figures shown on our website are illustrative and do not represent any real person's results.
6.Availability and accuracy
We try to keep the Service accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it is free of errors or that it will always be reachable. Please keep your own backups using the export and backup features built into the app.
7.Your responsibility
By using Trading Journal you accept that every trading decision is yours alone, and that Trading Journal is not liable for any loss, cost or damage arising from your use of the Service or from anything you decided while using it.
