Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of Trading Journal (“the Service”), a subscription web application operated by Trading Journal (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or paying for a plan, you agree to everything below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1.What the Service is
Trading Journal is a record-keeping tool. You type in the trades you have already taken and the Service organises them, does the arithmetic, and shows you reports and charts based on what you entered.
- It does not connect to your broker or demat account.
- It does not place, modify or cancel any order.
- It does not give tips, calls, signals or recommendations.
- It has no access to your money, holdings or trading credentials.
Please also read our Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
2.Your account
You must give accurate details when you register and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
- One account is for one person. Sharing a login with others is not permitted.
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract in India.
- Tell us at once if you believe someone else has your password.
Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash. Nobody at Trading Journal can read your password, which is why recovery works through a single-use email link and never by us telling you what it was.
3.Plans, payment and renewal
Plan prices are shown on our site and include the period stated on each plan. Payments are handled by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.
- There is no automatic renewal. Each purchase is a single payment for a fixed period. We do not keep your payment details and cannot charge you again on our own.
- When your period is close to ending we send a reminder by email and, if you gave us a number, on WhatsApp. Renewing is always your choice and your action.
- Renewing before your current period ends adds the new time on top of what is left, so you never lose days by paying early.
- We may change prices for future purchases. A change never affects a period you have already paid for.
Refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
4.Your data belongs to you
The trades, notes and screenshots you enter remain yours. We claim no ownership over them and we do not sell, publish or share them. You can export everything to a spreadsheet or take a full backup at any time from inside the app.
If your subscription lapses, nothing is deleted. You simply cannot add new entries until you renew. How we handle your information is set out in the Privacy Policy.
5.How you may not use the Service
You agree not to:
- resell, sublicense or share access with people who have not paid;
- copy, scrape or reverse-engineer the Service, or try to extract its source code;
- attempt to reach another user's account or data;
- upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to upload;
- use the Service to break any Indian law or any exchange or SEBI regulation;
- place a load on our systems that interferes with other users.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and where we reasonably can we will tell you why.
6.Our intellectual property
The software, design, text and layout of Trading Journal belong to Trading Journal. Paying for a plan buys you the right to use the Service for that period. It does not transfer any ownership.
7.Availability
We work to keep the Service running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of faults. It may be unavailable for maintenance, upgrades, or reasons outside our control such as hosting, network or power failures.
Please keep your own backups. The export and backup buttons inside the app exist for exactly this reason, and we recommend using them regularly.
8.Limitation of liability
To the extent Indian law allows:
- The Service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind.
- We are not liable for any trading loss, lost profit, lost opportunity or lost data, whether or not you relied on anything the Service showed you.
- Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9.Ending your use
You may stop using the Service at any time and simply not renew. You can ask us to delete your account and its data by writing to our support address.
We may end your access if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service. If we discontinue it while you are inside a paid period, we will refund the unused part on a pro-rata basis.
10.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service changes or the law requires. The date at the top of this page tells you when they were last revised. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at our registered place of business in India.
